I've been publishing a popular git-svn mirror of the Rails repo for a few months now:

http://git.sanityinc.com/?p=rails.git;a=summary

Seems to be much more regularly synchronised with svn than Koz's.

BTW, there's a rumour that the Rails Core team is thinking about switching to Git...

If you look in .git/config you can fix that up so your origin is the one you want. You can also do it vie the command line, but I find the first way easier.

Thanks for posting how to get datamapper and mysql working. I spent way too long trying to get it working and eventually stopped caring. They should really make it easier to install.

Thanks so much for these instructions, especially for the files to download. I was pulling my hair out trying to fix the formatting issues in the FastCGI init script on the original page.

Thanks for blogging about Erlang!

I'm one of those 1,500 hits from RubyCorner who didn't leave you any feedback on your first post. I'm a SQL Server DBA by background, with survival skills in VB and Perl. I liked Perl but it didn't quite fit my brain. Dereferencing nested data structures was something I always had to look up.

Right now I'm focused on getting spun up with PL/SQL (yuck) and Ruby (yeah). ANTLR will be probably be my next big skill set investment, since I keep finding myself doing parsing on every project.

Erlang and Haskell are on my radar, so I enjoy reading about them, and letting code examples wash over me to get a feel for the languages. I'm planning to pick one of them to learn in 2008, and am casually reading about both to inform my decision.

So, your posts are helpful to me, even though I'm not going to follow along at home.

Thanks

This is much appreciated! as I am one of the newbies with Erlang, who just got their hands on the "Programming Erlang" (beta) PDF and I begin to see how the language itself works, this is the perfect continuation to that, since a repository of ready-made packages is what I need, so I don't have to invent the wheel as a square every now and then ;)

I haven't had much time to look at CEAN but it seems to be similar to Ruby's gems, which I am more than familiar with.

Oh. p.s. Excellent blogging engine you are using ;)
